It's incredible to think that many of the world's healthiest ingredients are readily available and can even be found in your backyard. Natural herbs and spices have been used for many years in the hopes of promoting our health. When it comes to natural options, there's one plant that everyone seems to take note of...turmeric!
Turmeric has always been popular, and it has now made its way onto a variety of different shop's menus. As we can buy it over the counter in many forms, it's easy to see why people adore turmeric. Turmeric has been suggested to help with muscle and joint support to inflammation and even with tooth whitening to skin lightening.
Here are some easy, yummy, and worth-sharing turmeric smoothie recipes that you can make at home:
1. Turmeric Pineapple and Kiwi Kale Smoothie
Turmeric is an extremely nutritious spice with various uses. It’s an excellent antioxidant and has been said to help support brain function. Adding Kale and Pineapple to your smoothie also makes for a refreshing vibe.
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen pineapple
- 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 2 kiwi
- 1 banana
- 2 cups kale
TIP: Freeze your pineapple, it will make your drink cool, thick, and have a refreshing texture
2. Superfood Smoothie
Feeling bloated? How about trying this one which has *so* many superfoods: chia seeds, turmeric, ginger, and Brazil nuts. It's an excellent breakfast or snack since it's high in antioxidants, and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice, or an equal quantity of peeled and pitted oranges
- 1 unpeeled, pitted apple
- 1 ripe banana
- 3 tablespoons goji berries
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- A pinch of pepper
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons tahini (you can up this to 4 tablespoons or even replace it with almond butter)
- 3 brazil nuts
- 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
- 3 teaspoons chia seeds
3.Golden Milk Frappuccino
This is a paleo and vegan drink that may be consumed either hot or cold. This sweet, light, creamy and frothy turmeric drink is perfect for any day of the week!
Ingredients:
- Turmeric
- Coconut Milk (or another milk of your choice)
- Dates
- Ginger
- Cinnamon

Black Pepper (this may help enhance the bioavailability of the anti-inflammatory components in turmeric*)
Just blend everything using your blender, and once you’re happy with its consistency, you may want to top it off with your favorite whip cream and cinnamon!
4.Lemon Turmeric Smoothie With Chia Seeds
The intense flavor of turmeric is not for everyone. This chia seed-packed smoothie masks the flavor behind layers of lemon and banana sweetness for a quick and zesty drink.
Ingredients
- 3 bananas frozen, cut into pieces
- 1 c yogurt, vanilla or honey flavored can use vegan yogurt
- ½ c coconut milk or almond milk
- 2 tbsp honey or agave nectar if vegan
- ¼ c lemon juice fresh
- 2 tsp lemon zest
- ½ tsp turmeric

2 Tbsp chia seeds
You can either serve it right away or wait 5 minutes for the chia seeds to absorb part of the liquid.
5. Apple, Beet, And Turmeric Smoothie
Apple, beetroot, and turmeric contain great sources of vitamins for our body. Cucumbers, turmeric, and ginger are also great to help support digestion.
Ingredients
- 1 organic apple (±120g)
- 1/2 organic cucumber (±125g)
- 80g peeled beetroot
- 1tsp fresh turmeric
- 1/2tsp fresh ginger
- 1/2tsp lemon juice
- One pinch of black pepper
If drinking little chunks of ginger and turmeric bothers you, you may want to grate them and add them immediately to your glass of juice!
Supplementing with Turmeric
Turmeric may be consumed in a variety of ways, including smoothies, a simple tea, or just sprinkle the turmeric powder over vegetables themselves, but there is another option: taking a Turmeric supplement.
